The term is called ‘decision fatigue’, and it affects powerful and successful men. Their days are filled with tough, life-altering decisions. They adopt standards to reduce having to make minimize decisions about ‘stupid’ things. One thing that they do is wearing the same thing daily. Alpha gives examples of famous and powerful people: Steve Jobs, Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Mark Zuckerberg.
It boils down to ‘decision fatigue’. Should we buy the same outfit for 7 days a week? No, but we can minimize the clutter in your wardrobe. Eliminate the wardrobe of distractions. Make sure your items are clean and concise to the image you want to project and that you’ll actually wear. Your wardrobe should be managed to max capacity. You need to integrate and blend items. Also, we can learn from these successful people that we should shop smartly! Buy versitle items that can be matched and paired with other items seamlessly.
Alpha used to push himself outside of his style box with dress shirt patterns and colors. He now has white button-up shirts because they look great with any suit or v-neck. He has a bunch of them now. His tee shirt collection also is composed of the same GAP v-neck shirts and Ribbed Tee undershirts.
Alpha doesn’t recommend wearing the same thing every day. But decision fatigue and is out there. But you can adopt some of the principles to reduce the time matching and putting together outfits: stick with classics that are timeless, killers, look great on you, and work with everything.
