What makes a flannel shirt a flannel shirt?
It’s only flannel if it’s made from flannel fabric (wool, cotton, synthetic) that is brushed causing the fabric become fluffy and soft. The fuzzy fabric is flannel. The nap is typically on one side. Most often flannel shirts have a plaid pattern, but they can be solid. You can have different weights ranging from robust to light-weight. Most stores offer some type of flannel. It’s very popular but isn’t for the office or business casual. It is great for casual wear and pairing with jeans, chinos, or cords.
