Jomashop | Watches for Men and Women
As you are aware, watches can be expensive. Luxury watches, especially, can be pricey. But, you don’t have to spend a ton of cash to have a great watch. Inexpensive options are out there that you will be killing it with! In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro talks about the ‘gray market’.
The black market is stolen or fake. Don’t do this! The gray market, on the other hand, is sold in the US but meant for another market. The manufacturer was supposed to distribute to an authorized dealer in another country but ends up selling to unauthorized dealer in the US. The gray market works around the importer territories.
Gray Market Upsides and Downsides
If you see 20% – 40% off, this is probably gray market like on Overstock and Amazon. You won’t get the manufacturer’s warranty if you buy in the gray market. The gray market may offer their own warranty, however. Further, you will save a lot of money and you don’t have to pay sales tax too.
Alpha’s Oris Diver 60 from Jomashop
The brand Oris has flown under the watch radar, but they are reasonably priced Swiss automatic watch maker. Alpha displays his watch that he fell in love with (Diver 60). It looks incredible, and it’s cool because the crystals bubble up. It’s a throw-back from the 1960s. The watch is $1,800 in the stores, but after looking online, Jomashop sells it for $1,100 with no sales tax. He is super happy with it! It has a warranty, which he has to send it back to Jomashop if something happens.
Bottom line, make sure you buy from a reputable gray market dealer. You can save a bunch of money on a great watch. Alpha’s had an incredibly positive experience and notes that he is not associated with Oris or Jomashop. He is just ridiculously into watches and wanted to test out the gray market experience.
