Alpha tells a story about his trip with Papa Alpha to Philadelphia. Southwest Airlines lost his luggage, and it was a horrible feeling! He packed all of his medications in that luggage! And what really super sucked was not having his sunglasses. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro discusses how he found his new pair of Tom Ford sunglasses.
Alpha and Papa Alpha went to the mall for a sweet pair of shades. They hit up Sunglass Hut first. He was interested in checking out some new shades like Tom Ford. After going to Sunglass Hut, he remembered that the company is owned by an Italian company, Luxottica Group S.p.A., which will only sell from companies that own or they have exclusive rights to manufacture their glasses.
Sunglass Hut | Luxottica
Luxottica is the owner of not only Sunglass Hut but also Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Eyemed vision care plan, and Glasses.com. Its best known brands are Ray-Ban, Persol, and Oakley. Luxottica also makes sunglasses and prescription frames for designer brands such as Chanel, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Miu Miu, Donna Karan, Stella McCartney, and Tory Burch.
Solstice | Safilo Group
If you are independent sunglasses company, you have to find a different distribution channel. By chance, Alpha found Solstice on his way out of the mall. Their glasses are all the other higher end brands including Tom Ford. He bought ultimately a pair of Tom Ford which he displays and describes. They are notoriously worn in the Bond series. Solstice is a great company owned by Safilo Group S.p.A and are the 2nd largest optical frame and sunglasses company. Alpha thinks it’s great that they give other companies give an opportunity to sell their product.
