Why NoFap Will RUIN Your Life!

February 2, 2022
I want to start this video off by letting you know that if you find something that works for you, that  you believe, that helps you be better & feel better, it doesn’t matter what I say. It doesn’t matter what your friends say. It doesn’t even matter what science says. If it works for you, keep doing it.

The NoFap Concept & the Movement

The reason I started thinking about NoFap is because I got an email from one of our friends that was upset about his NoFap journey. He was four days in, and he ‘relapsed’. He wanted to know my advice, which I responded not to worry and that it’s normal & natural. But this got me thinking a little bit more about the NoFap concept — what does it really mean? What doesn’t it mean? I know I’ve published a video discussing NoFap and research surrounding it, but I want to discuss this concept & movement deeper.

The reason why NoFap became a movement was from a community of guys who were trying to support each other when they were trying to quit their addiction to porn. This has gotten lost in what’s going on now — the movement is now focused on not touching it and abstaining.

If you have an unhealthy relationship with porn, you should try to eliminate it and stop consuming. This action will absolutely benefit your life. But, some guys are interpreting NoFap as a movement in self-discipline and control. I feel there are better ways to be disciplined and exercise self-control such as a healthy diet, exercising, and not drinking & doing drugs.

Are you setting yourself up for repeated failure?

Sure, benefits of NoFap have been reported such as increased energy, happiness, motivation, and more. Also, better sleep, higher muscle growth, better sperm quality, and increased stamina are purported benefits. But, you need to ask yourself why you are doing NoFap — is it to break your addiction to porn (that’s fine) or is it to refrain from touching Big Al? Don’t confuse the two.

Setting yourself up for failure repeatedly is dangerous. I am not debating the pros and cons of porn, but you do need to get consumption under control. Just don’t get watching porn and touching it confused. Doing this to your body is normal and natural, so don’t set yourself up for failure. Life is too short to be upset about doing something that your family members all have done.

Potential downsides to the NoFap movement

  1. Being super horny all the time — it’s super bad to be super horny all the time, which may cause you to make some bad decisions (like getting frisky & freaky with someone you shouldn’t). It’s like going grocery shopping when you’re hungry. Further, you won’t be able to relax; taking care of yourself will help you relax and boost your mood. And you won’t get any better if you don’t do anything — due to built-up tension and anxiety, the second you get remotely close to getting some action, BANG, game over.
  2. Thinking about sex too much — if you take care of business, you forget about that, and you can focus on things that you need to be focusing on. If you are preoccupied with NoFap, you will be thinking about it more in an attempt to not think about it.
  3. Setting yourself up for failure — you could potentially feel guilty about looking at movies, but you may also feel guilty about touching it. Once again, you have to separate the two. I am not saying religions that advocate certain stances are wrong or bad, but I am saying that you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. So, if you don’t do it in order to not feel guilty, what ends up happening is 10xs worse because you’ve been set up for failure, knowing you’re going to do it eventually. The guilt will be compounded worse than if you just did it in the first place. Plus, research has demonstrated that releasing the hounds 21xs a month reduces the chance of prostate cancer.
