I’m going to the beach in about four weeks, and I’m not loving my physique. I need to lose a few pounds and get leaner to feel more confident with my shirt off. So today, I will review what I’ll be doing over the next four weeks to look sexy by summer. The three steps include diet, working out, and grooming hacks.
STEP ONE: Diet deep dive
- You need to get a baseline from where you’re starting. Hop on the scale to know what your weight is and then check it daily at the same time.
- Prioritizing sleep, getting more than 7 to 8 hours, is also part of the plan.
- Drinking at least 120 oz of water with lemon daily is a natural diuretic and adds vitamin C.
- Cut out alcohol because alcohol will mess with your metabolism and willpower.
- L-carnitine is a supplement that I’ve been taking for years before I do cardio on an empty stomach and before I go to bed. When you combine it with a healthier diet, you’ll be amazed at how much leaner you can get.
- Prepare your meals for the next 30 days. Prior planning prevents poor diet performance. I follow the Alpha M Diet Plan, which I’ll share in different combinations that you can create. The goal is to get protein at every meal and reduce starchy carbohydrates.
STEP TWO: Fit in fitness daily
- Do cardio every single day. Go outside for a jog, jump rope, treadmill, or bike. Do at least 45 minutes of fasted cardio every morning.
- Hit the gym four days a week. What muscles you focus on is a personal preference, but I stick to compound movements. I like squats, bench presses, and deadlifts, which work your entire body. You will have better workouts and save time when you’re engaging all different muscles, including your core. This cuts down on the amount of time and exercises you need to do to work auxiliary smaller muscles.
- Work out your abs. The more you work your abdominal muscles, the deeper the separations. With deeper separations and a higher body fat percentage, you can still see your abs. My favorite ab exercises are weighted ab crunches, hanging leg raises, and bench crunches.
STEP THREE: Up your grooming game
- The less hair you have, the more defined you will see in the leaner you look.
- I shave my arms because the more hair you have, the less you can see your muscles. Specifically, you’ll see more definition and vascularity in your arms.
- I use a cartridge razor for my arms and as well as my chest. I also use a razor for the base of Big Al in my balls. I use a grooming tool for the rest of my body, taking the hair down prior.
- I would not shave your stomach or happy trail with a razor. Leave a bit of stubble, or just take it super short with a grooming tool. Shaving with a razor increases the chance of getting broken or ingrown hairs.
- Remember to moisturize your skin. It will reflect light and make you look more muscular. If your skin is dry and ashy, it will not reflect light.
- A tan instantly makes your body look better, leaner, and more muscular. You don’t need to sit outside in the sun or go to a tanning bed. You can use sunless tanners, which you can easily find on Amazon. Bodybuilders put on fake tans because the darker skin creates more definition.
