15 Items You Should NEVER Waste Money On {IMO}

January 28, 2025
We work hard for our money, so I’d like to review some items I would never buy again. I’ve learned my lesson by buying them; I won’t again.

Use your money wisely – don’t waste it on these

  1. Expensive razors. Don’t buy costly razors. Go for the cheap stuff on Amazon, like Dorco blades. They still fit in my Dollar Shave Club handles, and I buy a pack of 30 for about $6. It lasts about a year.
  2. Designer animals. There’s a trend for these designer animals, but it’s much better to go to a shelter or pound and find an animal that needs a new home. There are a lot of amazing animals! But financing thousands of dollars on an animal is insane.
  3. Designer fragrances. Spending anywhere from $300 and up on fragrances is insane. I learned my lesson. There are a lot of amazing fragrances that will not break the bank.
  4. The latest and greatest technology. Whether or not the phone, computer, or any other device, it’s a colossal waste of money just to buy the newest technology. If you need a phone, go ahead and get the best one. But you don’t need to upgrade every 6 months or every year. You’re a fool.
  5. High-end liquor. I got into bourbon for a while and tried some expensive brands. But spending $600 for a bottle is insane. There are affordable liquors that aren’t going to cost hundreds of dollars.
  6. Certain vehicles. Don’t ever buy a Range Rover. Don’t buy a car that does not have a back seat or has a tiny backseat. It’s not functional, and you’ll be the guy who can’t drive because nobody can fit in the backseat. For that reason, I will never own a sports car. Four doors are more practical and reasonable. So, if you can find a cool car that meets your budget and has four doors and four seats, that’s awesome. I also will never buy a car with my ego. There are many affordable options out there, but if you keep getting into the habit of keeping up with the Joneses or people you see on social media, it’s a recipe for disaster.
  7. Counterfeit watches. I did it when I was younger and thought it was cool at first. But it was a piece of crap, and I never wore it. I was always concerned somebody would be able to tell.
  8. Tech watches. Also, don’t buy tech watches because although they’re functional, no stylish dude is rocking a tech watch. The watch is a fantastic accessory, and you want to look down and see a sexy ass watch like mine from Aura.
  9. Neckties. You should always look for an affordable option and not spend much money on ties. Nobody knows how much you spend, and they all look the same. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars when you can buy one for $30?
  10. Cheap shoes. Wear higher-quality shoes. They don’t need to be expensive but don’t buy cheap shoes. Whether or not it’s sneakers, boots, or dress shoes, if it’s not genuine leather, you don’t want to do it. You want good construction and high quality. Instead, I would stretch for a higher quality shoe that’s more out of my price range and know I will wear them for years instead of buying something cheap.
  11. Cheap gym and fitness equipment—including cardio—won’t last, and it’s a waste of money.
  12. Workout or muscle-building supplements. I do not waste my money on those, but I do spend money on good quality whey protein, multivitamins, pre and probiotics, and micronutrients. You’re not getting what you think you’re purchasing with pre and post-workouts and all that stuff. The supplement industry is not regulated like food so anybody can make claims about a product. Also, what truly makes a difference is exercising and working out consistently. Focus on higher quality foods and diet to move the needle.
  13. Tobacco. Don’t waste your money. You’ll get addicted, your teeth will yellow and rot, and it’s brutal to try to quit. Don’t mess around with cigars, we, or any other type of recreational anything. You don’t want it to mess with your brain.
  14. Eating out. It’s a massive waste of money, and you can’t control what you’re consuming. You think you’re eating healthy, but restaurants sneak in hidden calories, sodium, preservatives, and other ingredients.
  15. Cheap grooming products. You want to opt for higher quality because they’re better for your health and you. You don’t want products that destroy your endocrine system or mess up your hair. Invest in higher quality products so that they don’t ruin your testosterone and endocrine system.
