A half-million dollars will be spent by the time this church renovation is finished, and it will be over-budget. Being ‘good’ scared is okay, however.
Alpha’s New Project
Eight months ago, Alpha embarked on a new entrepreneurial journey. He’s been taking a 4,000 square-foot, mid-1800’s church and completely renovating it. It was a disaster before with nasty plaster, spray paint, and vines. They’ve been working on the front of the building including the stucco, front door, and windows. He even had to add the sewer and running water because the building’s so old.
Inside the building, the floor is being fixed as the floor joists were rotten. The electricity and paint are two other areas of focus. Soon to come will be the construction of the mezzanine level and repairing the basement. Next time Alpha updates viewers about this project he will reveal the business that will be opening in it — and it will be open to the public. One significant lesson that Alpha has learned is commercial projects are 3xs more expensive than residential.
Fear That Led to Success
Alpha reminds viewers of a video he published 3-years ago when he was scared of the large, new warehouse he leased for Pete & Pedro. He was scared then — but it ended up being one of his best decisions. Another big decision was selling fragrances which have become the #1 and #2 best selling products for Pete & Pedro. New deluxe samples of REBEL (inspired by Creed Aventus) and HERO (inspired by Acqua di Gio) are in-stock for those of you who don’t know if you want to pull the trigger on a big bottle. And a new inspiration fragrance is coming — KING — which is inspired by Green Irish Tweed!
He was also scared to start ENEMY, his sunglasses and accessories company. Investing in the brand and the company before launching is scary! Not only has it been successful, but ENEMY recently launched new badass designs. Custom rings have even been added to the mix! The ring is the same that Alpha always wears. Keep in mind these rings are custom and take a few weeks to handcraft and ship.
The Best Decisions
So, the best decisions that Alpha has made have been the scariest. People run from fear, but if you want to be successful, you have to take risks. You have to harness that fear of potentially failing and use that fear to motivate you. You may fail, but you shouldn’t allow the fear of potential failure to overrule your desire to win and succeed. To be successful mean you had to deal with fear because it’s part of the journey. The bottom line is that you have to believe in yourself and be willing to be scared.
