Cape Cod Polishing Cloth
Sabrina Silver Polishing Cloth
When Alpha notices a scratch on his new watch, he used to get mad and frustrated! In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro presents how to keep your watch looking sweet with Tristano. Remember to embrace the scratch so you stress less and enjoy the piece.
If you have a vintage piece (dress watch) and you want to get it back to its formal ‘hay day’, before you take it to a professional, use the Cape Cod polishing cloth for light scratches (normal wear and tear). A professional (watch maker) will use a machine to brush it which the abrasion will take some of the layers of steel off. Keep in mind over-polishing affects resale value.
Two finishes are high polish and brushed, which Tristano demonstrates with two watches. Supplies needed are masking tape, watch tools, Q-Tips, paper towels, plastic gloves, heavy duty scrubber with a green layer, and Cape Cod polishing cloths.
Polished Finish
- Put on gloves and remove the watch strap
- Masking tape to cover the section on which you are not working
- Get the Cape Cod cloth and cut a bit off then brush the segment for a couple of minutes
- Use paper towel to wipe off excess and then wipe off the watch
- Leave to dry
Brushed Surface
- Put on gloves then observe the brush surface direction
- Get scrubber and cut some of the green section off
- Very carefully, rub in the direction of the brush
